G N Saibaba
We, the undersigned, want to register our protest against the unjust and inhuman re-arrest of Delhi University professor Dr GN Saibaba. A well known academic and social activist, Dr Saibaba, we believe, is being targeted for his voice against injustices inflicted on the marginalized sections of society. He is a 90% disabled person, who is suffering from many life-threatening ailments and growing paralysis of his left hand. When his medical treatment was still going on, he was abruptly called back to Nagpur Central Prison from Delhi. We also condemn the judicial order to initiate criminal proceedings for contempt of court against author Arundhati Roy for writing an essay in Outlook, demanding the release of Dr G N Saibaba, and questioning judicial discrimination.

We demand that Dr G N Saibaba be released immediately and proceedings against Arundhati Roy be quashed.
